Piano Lessons - Hoover, Alabama

Qualifications:

Ms. Ingram has over 25 years experience teaching students of all age categories in private piano lessons. Her educational background includes over 15  years of private piano studies, focusing primarily on classical studies. She studied for many years with the teaching staff at Birmingham Southern College prior to attending college and then went on to attend Birmingham Southern College as a Music Education major. As a graduate of Birmingham Southern College, she studied Music Education curriculum, and focused on piano and organ. While attending Birmingham Southern, she was chosen to be awarded a music scholarship. Ms. Ingram completed her degree at Birmingham Southern with a B.S. in Business Administration, and a minor in Music Education

Ms. Ingram is an accomplished accompanist and has accompanied various chorale and orchestral groups over the past 30 years. One of her most enjoyable experiences includes accompanying a Birmingham violin group for over 10 years, with performances occurring both locally and internationally. Ms. Ingram also is booked regularly for private events such as weddings, private parties, etc.


Philosophy:

Ms. Ingram believes music to be a personal expression of one’s heart a soul. It is much like any other language in which it must be studied, understood, and then becomes a natural part of your expression to use as a means to communicate. Her business values are ones of integrity, compassion, patience and positive reinforcement along with a focus of enjoyment.

Her teaching style is individual to the student, primarily based on age and level of exposure to the understanding of music. The progress of the student is based on their personal ability and understanding of the music.

Rates:

Rates vary based on length of lessons (30, 45 or 60 minutes per week), along with the student level (beginner, intermediate, advanced). The initial consultation and assessment meeting is at no charge to the student.
